I’ve played soccer for the past eight years. I love the game because of its fast pace and because it is a player’s game. Throughout my participation on various club and varsity teams I’ve developed team skills as well as
athleticism. With the involvement I have and love for the game, I’ve often wondered why soccer isn’t a popular spectator sport in the United States. Soccer has had many set backs in popularity in the United States. With the development of other college level sports and the “soccer wars”, soccer, culturally, is not “in our blood” as American sports enthusiasts, but there are still many reasons soccer is the most popular sport in the world. My website highlights the history of soccer and also explains some reasons why soccer is not popular in the United States. If you would like to learn more about soccer history, there are provided links and information about my sources. Also, you can find out more information about me, the creator of this site. Thanks for visiting my page; I hope it is helpful to you!
